BRIEF
Lens: A Multi-Sensory Color Experience.
The brief for this project was to design an interactive website based on a real-world phenomenon; I chose to explore Synesthesia - the intersection of different senses.
ABOUT
Using the "Pantone Color of the Year" series as a foundation, I transformed Pantone’s objective selections into a deeply subjective and emotional experience.
The site allows users to navigate through the Pantone timeline (2000-2026), encountering each color through sound, sensations, and textures.
For every page, I created a unique 3D experience that reflects the Color of the Year alongside a significant technological event from that
same year.
At the core of the project is the transition from 2D to 3D: each color begins as a flat swatch and evolves, through 3D interaction in Spline, into a tangible, immersive environment.
"Lens" offers a new perspective on color, breaking down clinical definitions into rich sensory interpretations.
The project combines UI design in Figma with interactive 3D environments to invite users to "feel" color rather than just see it.

These 3D environments began intuitively, translating my intuitive, synesthetic response to each Pantone color into physical spaces.
Through research, I then aligned these raw, sensory forms with the technological milestones of their respective years - bridging personal perception with digital history.
Blue Turquoise | 2005
The Data Stream
In 2005, Pantone selected Blue Turquoise (15-5217) as a calming nod to nature, evoking the restorative and tranquil qualities of the ocean. Paradoxically, this same year marked a massive shift in the digital landscape with the public launch of YouTube, ushering in the modern era of video streaming.

This color captures the profound intersection between the natural and the virtual. While it represents the soothing depth of tropical waters, it simultaneously embodies the "Data Stream" - the newly formed, rushing current of pixels, moving images, and global media that permanently flooded the internet.
Very Peri | 2022
The Playground Cosmos
Pantone explicitly created Very Peri (17-3938) for 2022 to reflect the blurring lines between physical and digital lives, heavily inspired by the rise of the Metaverse and immersive 3D web environments.
Concurrently, 2022 witnessed a profound moment in physical space exploration when the James Webb Space Telescope transmitted its first high-resolution, full-color images of the deep universe.

Very Peri serves as the "Playground Cosmos." It captures an era where the boundaries of exploration expanded simultaneously inward - into limitless virtual sandboxes - and outward into the actual cosmos.
Peach Fuzz | 2024 Synthetic warmth
Named the Color of the Year for 2024, Peach Fuzz (13-1023) emerged as a dominant trend across fashion, interior design, and wellness, championed for its warm, tactile, and deeply human qualities. However, this cultural desire for physical comfort and biological softness arrived exactly at the peak of the Artificial Intelligence revolution.
This color highlights a fascinating paradox: "Synthetic Sensations." As society adopts increasingly algorithmic, generative, and machine-driven systems, there is a counter-trend craving empathy and real human touch. Peach Fuzz represents this tension - our modern attempt to code warmth and simulate connection within an automated era.
